Our company was formed in 1996 in Reigate, Surrey and moved to Edenbridge, Kent in 2008.
Nick Cowlishaw served a six year Hand Bookbinding apprenticeship in Derby and attended Derby College of Art. He has been a professional bookbinder ever since. Nick taught Craft Bookbinding full time at the London College of Printing for 18 years and part time at Morley College in London for 14 years. Nick has given talks and lectures at the Society of Bookbinders' meetings and conferences.
|Charlotte Cowlishaw first learnt the craft at Teacher Training College in Roehampton, in the early 1970s. She studied bookbinding full time at the London College of Printing and later taught bookcover design there. More recently she taught bookbinding at the Adult Education Centre in Tunbridge Wells. Nick and Charlotte have been married over thirty years and have two sons whose careers are more rooted in the 21st C.
